French MEP: Orbán is ready to accept Putin’s orders
Magyar Hang, a Hungarian weekly, interviewed French MEP Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield, who drafted the report of the European Parliament about the rule of law in Hungary. She said that PM Viktor Orbán is ready to accept some orders from Putin. “It is very clear that Orbán submits some of Putin’s requests to the European Council”, she added.
She believes in the interview that the Hungarian government decided to turn to Russia and not only on the issue of energy dependency. There are Russian banks and financial institutions, she added. Delbos-Corfield, who is a member of the Greens in the European Parliament, believes that Hungary is an entry point for Russia in the EU. And that is the consequence of a deliberate decision of the government. She said Hungary criticised the EU sanctions because the government seeks the favour of Putin and Gazprom, Magyar Hang wrote.
She expressed her scepticism regarding the legal modifications aiming for greater transparency and less corruption. She said joining the European Public Prosecutor’s Office would enable to reach those goals. The new Hungarian anti-corruption institution, dependent on the government and the Hungarian president, will not fulfil its task, she believes.

Orbán: Tradition brings peace, joy, harmony to people’s lives
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has greeted Hungary’s Jewish community in a letter on the occasion of the approaching Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, his press chief said on Saturday.
“It is an experience shared by all of us that traditions passed on from our ancestors bring peace, joy and harmony to people’s lives, and can provide strength for everyday life as well as make the holidays brighter,” Orban said in the letter delivered to head of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (MAZSIHISZ) András Heisler, chief rabbi of the EMIH Jewish Community Shlomo Köves, head of the Hungarian Autonomous Orthodox Congregation (MAOIH) Róbert Deutsch, leader of the Hungarian Jewish Heritage Foundation György Szabó and Hungarian Jewish Prayer Association (ZSIMA) leader Tamás Róna, Bertalan Havasi said.
“Allow me to respectfully greet you and the Hungarian Jewish community on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah,” Orbán said. “I wish this new year to be as sweet and round for you as the honey and the apple placed on the table for the holiday,” he added.

“Puppet on a String.”
Could it be intensified, through the Hungarian Government, being in the overall position it has placed itself – in a position of IMPLODING ?
The French are upset that they cannot rule the word. Hungary will cooperate with anyone that does not wish to do harm to Hungarian people.
I’m quite sure that neither the people of France, nor Emmanual Macron dreams of a new Napoleonic era, but One V.O. SEEMS to entertain ideas of a “greater” Hungary (especially when he is in Romania).
The Hungarian Government of 1956 cooperated with the Russian Government, and look what happened, look who got to “enjoy” the company of extra Russian occupiers for 34 years. Need I say more?
@Dari,
It’s not very often that we (dear cousin :D) see eye to eye, but when it comes to making comments here, we generally agree (when did you say my pay rise is coming 😉 🙂 :D).
